Italian Foreign Minister Franco Fratini said during a speech in the Italian Parliament: “It is important that we emphasize in this parliament that Italy supports the legitimate demands of the Iranian people, who are peacefully demanding respect of their basic and fundamental rights.” Fratini added he will send this call to the Iranian Parliament’s Foreign Commission chief and reiterate that Italy cannot accept a nation’s legitimate demands be suppressed with such violence.
