Yemen: Houthis suffer major casualties in Ta’izz

Houthi militants in Yemen have suffered immense casualties in clashes in Ta’izz, Al Jazeera TV reported on Sunday, August 23rd. In one battle alone 33 Houthis and troops loyal to ousted dictator Ali Abdullah Salah were killed by popular resistance forces, as 40 others were injured. Simultaneously, Arab coalition warplanes staged major airstrikes against Houthi positions in Ta’izz.
Battles also raged on in various neighborhoods and areas across the city of Ibb. These clashes led to at least 9 Houthis being killed.
In Dhamar Province popular resistance forces were able to fend off a Houthi attack and inflict heavy damages to their units.
