In an interview with CNN, Egyptian women’s rights activist Nawal al-Sa’dawi said women cannot be free in a society based on classes or male hegemony. As a result, we have to fight against class discrimination, sexual and religious discrimination, she added.  We cannot speak about revolution without women, al-Sa’dawi continued, we cannot speak about democracy without women. Women will always be in the front lines.
