
On Friday, massive crowds of Iraqis gathered and held demonstrations at protest camps and mosques in six Iraqi provinces marking the first anniversary of their movement against Nouri Maliki’s government.
Friday’s rallies this week in Iraq commemorated the 1st anniversary of the uprising in the six provinces of Baghdad, al-Anbar, Salahaddin, Diyala, Kirkuk and Mosul entitled “One year of Perseverance and Determination” against Maliki and the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq. Speakers in these rallies called on Maliki to stop kowtowing to orders issued by the Iranian regime.
Many Arab-language TV stations including Al-Jazeera Live, Baghdad, Al-Rafedein, Al-Samera, Al-Gharbiya and Al-Babeliya provided live broadcast of Friday’s rallies throughout the country.
