Akram Chehayeb, a legislator from Lebanon Socialist Progressive Party, said, “despite the assassination of Antoine Ghanem, we shall set up Lebanon’s presidential elections at any cost in order to pull out our country from the domination of Syria, the Iranian regime and Hezbollah and make Lebanon an independent country.

Akram Chehayeb added: Antoine Ghanem’s assassination was aimed at reducing the parliamentary majority.
