Not much has passed from US President Barack Obama’s visit to the Middle East and his meeting with Saudi King Abdullah. In these talks many issues were discussed, including the Syria crisis and changing US policy vis-à-vis the opposition and arming the rebels being the most important issue, Orient TV reported.
Some sources say after this trip practical measures aimed at helping the rebels have been initiated based on agreements made in the US Congress.
Obama had emphasized in many meetings with Saudi officials to support the arming of Syrian rebels with advanced weapons and back their struggle to overthrow the Assad regime. Two US security officials said this country has now taken practical steps to prove this agreement. The US provides its arms and financial support to the Syrian rebels through the Jordanian border and southern Syria.
