
New York, Reuters, 18 May 2017 – One person has been killed and 20 others were injured after a speeding vehicle rammed into pedestrians in New York city’s Time Square, with Reuters reporting the driver behind the incident has been arrested.

One witness told Reuters that at least 10 people were receiving treatment after vehicle struck pedestrians. But CBS reported that at least 20 people were injured.

The New York Police Department closed off the area after the collision at the Midtown Manhattan tourist site.
CBS also said Times Square incident was not connected to terrorism, citing New York City police. CBS said that vehicle was red Sedan and the driver was removed.
The White House later said that US President Donald Trump has been made aware of the incident and will continue to receive updates.
