Orient Net, 22 March 2018— An air strike appeared to hit members of Syria’s Civil Defence in Douma in a video uploaded by the group, also known as the White Helmets, to a social media website on Thursday (March 22).

Loud audio of an explosion and thick smoke erupts after members of the White Helmets exit a vehicle in an eastern Ghouta town.

One of the rescuers is seen lying motionless and bloody on the ground, as another injured man is carried to a vehicle. The accompanying caption to the video said that three Civil Defence members were killed in the strike.

The caption on the video and the White Helmets Twitter account said the video was shot Wednesday (March 21).

At least 75 civilians had been killed in Douma over a period of fewer than 72 hours from Sunday (March 18).

Douma is the most populous area in eastern Ghouta, and for more than a week it has been entirely surrounded and heavily shelled by Assad regime militias, backed by Russian aircraft.
