WashingtonTV, Washington, 6 November 2009 -A federal court in New York on Thursday sentenced a US citizen to 46 months in prison for illegally exporting aircraft parts to Iran.
Laura Wang-Woodford was a director of Monarch Aviation, a Singapore company that imported and exported military and commercial aircraft components.
She was found guilty of conspiring to violate the US trade embargo by exporting controlled aircraft components to Iran, reports Reuters.
She was also ordered to forfeit 500,000 dollars to the US Treasury Department.
Her husband, who was also charged in the case, remains at large.
Between January 1998 and December 2007, the defendants allegedly exported the parts from the U.S. to Singapore, then re-exported them to Iran.
