The US State Department issued a statement and warned Iranian-American citizens against travelling to Iran, the VOA news reported on Jan. 3.

The statement referred to the arrest of a number of Iranian-American lecturers and journalists and added that the Iranian regime has hostile relationship with the United States, and warned against the arrest and harassment of such people during their travel and stay in Iran.

The statement by the State Department indicates also says that Iranian regime continues to suppress ethnic and religious minorities such as Kurds, Arabs and Baha’is.
