US State Department spokesman said Wednesday in Washington that over 90% of targets bombed by Russia in Syria are not positions belonging to ISIS or pro al-Qaeda extremist groups. In contrast these attacks have mainly targeted opposition groups that are seeking a better future in Syria and are not to have the Assad regime remain in power.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said of the 57 positions bombed so far only 2 belonged to ISIS.
US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter has said Russia’s strategy is catastrophically vague, and the US will not cooperate with this country.
