The U.S. Forces in Iraq announced that in an operation in the Sadr city of Baghdad 25 members of special groups supported by the terrorist Qods force were arrested on Monday, February 11, 2008.

A US Army spokesman Michel Street said that the operation was conducted in the Saba’ Qosour neighborhood east of Sadr city, and 25 members of the special groups involved in killings and assassinations were arrested and detained.

The French news agency reported the news and added that Washington insists that Iranian regime provides training and weapon for the special groups and funds them.

Also on Monday the Associated Press reported: “U.S. soldiers captured a suspected Shiite militia commander and one other suspect Monday, the latest of several days of raids in Shiite holy cities south of Baghdad. The main suspect detained Monday is believed to be in charge of criminal operations for “special groups” in the Iraqi provinces of Wasit, Babil and Najaf, the U.S. military said in a statement. He was allegedly involved in coordinating weapons shipments and planning attacks on U.S. and Iraqi forces, it said. It did not characterize the second suspect.”
