According to Asharqiya TV, in a press conference, Brig. Gen. David Perkins, the spokesman for the American-led forces in Iraq, declared that the US government has enough proof and documents that indicate the Iranian regime has no intention that Iraq become a full sovereign country. The Iran-affiliated armed groups don’t want stability and security for Iraq; among those are Hizbullah’s battalions in Iraq that are supported and aided by the Qods Force.

He warned against the Iranian regime’s meddling in US-Iraq security agreement and said: “Remarks by the Iranian regime’s officials concern the Iraqi government and the United States.” He added that remarks by Iranian regime’s officials do not help the current talks between Iraq and the U.S. regarding security pact, but Iraq and US do not pay attention to these remarks.
