The official Lebanese news agency said the country’s Council of Ministers held an emergency session Saturday evaluating the trash crisis.
Lebanese government meetings are held under tight security conditions while thousands of angry demonstrators had rallied outside the Parliament and egged all vehicles belonging to various ministers.
Security barriers weren’t able to stop the angry protesters. Neither barbed wires hundreds of anti-riot and security forces, nor even the Council of Ministers police were able to prevent the Lebanese youth from getting close to the nearest Parliament entrance.
The ministers were rushed into the building without any talks with the media and under a barrage of eggs. While the session was scheduled to discuss the election of a new president, once again Hezbollah obstructed as they have in 27 parliamentary session.
Everyone is talking about new parliamentary elections to allow political stability to be established in Lebanon. This country is facing numerous crises, including economic and security issues. However, severe differences between parliamentary factions is preventing the resolution of any of these dilemmas. Analysts believe that considering the existing political differences any session held by the parliament will end in similar fashion. Therefore, the people and especially the youth in Lebanon have seen the solution in their new movement of uprisings and revolution.
