Al Jazeera TV, 24 Sep 2012 – For the first time in its history, Syria will have two representatives in the United Nations General Assembly.
In addition to Bashar al-Jafari, the Syrian regime’s representative in the UN, Syrian National Council chair Abdelbasset Sieda will also be taking part in the UNGA.
The General Assembly official invited the SNC chief to take part in the sessions of this assembly. This invitation took place upon the efforts of several Arab countries. It is still not clear if Sieda will be delivering a speech in the General Assembly or that this speech will be taking place in a special meeting with the presence of the Friends of Syria.
