The United Nations welcomed the formation of the new Palestine national unity government. Prior to this the United States government and European Union had supported this cabinet and announced their readiness of cooperation.
A UN spokesman said Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon welcomes the establishment of the Palestine national unity government led by Prime Minister Rami Hamdollah, Reuters reported.
The UN supports this government and its efforts to unify Gaza with the West Bank, the spokesman added.
