Colonel Abdul-Jabbar al-Atiyi, head of the Aleppo Military Council said the ceasefire in Syria was born dead from the very beginning.
“The truce in Syria was born dead from the very beginning and faced failure when being implemented. Assad’s forces began bombing ordinary citizens from the first day of the ceasefire,” he added.
He described the ceasefire as a lie and expressed his regret on the fact that the Syrian people have fallen in the ‘trap’ of international envoys.

“Assad’s regime is a lying regime, and if it allowed the people to stage their demonstrations, it would have been overthrown much long ago. If the Syrian people believed in this regime’s commitment to a ceasefire, they would have taken to the streets,” said Brigadier General Mostafa Sheikh, head of the Free Syrian Army Military Council.
