“Total lack of American leadership” says Senator John McCain regarding Russian aggression in Syria

In an impassion speech on the Senate floor, Senator McCain, Chairman of the Senate Arms Services Committee blamed the Obama administration for failure in Afghanistan and Syria.
Senator McCain slammed Obama for failing to take a leading role in Syria resulting in the Russian airstrikes on rebel positions fighting Assad regime. Senator McCain said “the United State stood by as Bashar Assad waged his war on the innocent Syrian people. The slaughter by Assad regime has been the single cause of the continued rise of the ISIL.”
Senator McCain said that there is no doubt that it was Bashar Assad who created and gave birth to ISIL.
“President said for years that Assad must go. But he has done nothing that has brought us any closer to achieving that outcome,” McCain said.
The chairman of the Senate Arms Services committee added that in the wreckage of this administration Middle East policy, and by perceiving the Obama administration’s inaction as weakness, Putin has stepped in and taken the full advantage and has built up a significant military presence in western Syria during past two weeks. He has even deployed strike aircrafts, including air to air attack planes. It should be noted that if these military hardware are intended for the ISIL, as it was said, the ISIL doesn’t have any air capabilities.
Senator McCain concluded by saying that Putin’s ambitions are blindingly obvious. By military buildup in Syria and its cooperation with Iran, it is obvious that Russia wants to prop up Assad regime and undermine the US policy and operations and ultimately expand Russian influence in the Middle East to a degree unseen since 1973.
