The Voice of America reported that Senator Lindsey O. Graham (S. C.), a leading member of the Armed Services Committee, said: “Iranian regime must end its meddling in Iraq.”
In his speech at American Enterprise institute he said: “Iranian regime specially the Qods force of IRGC has intensified its activities to destabilize Iraq and supports militia groups.”
Sen. Graham said: “the IRGC which is the enemy of Iraqis and U.S. must end its activities in Iraq. I personally examined the case of abduction and killing of the five U.S. servicemen in Karbala; there are undeniable evidences of Iranian regime and the Qods force operatives’ involvement in that case. I can give you a long list of bombs and other equipment. Iranian regime makes its efforts to destabilize Iraq because it is not in long-term interests of this regime to have democracy in a neighboring country.”
Referring to Ahmadinejad comment ‘Iran will fill the vacuum of security in Iraq’ Sen. Graham said: “the United State will not allow such a vacuum to happen, and it is the international community’s commitment to squelch this regime which has pestered the people of that country. ”
“In that respect, the more international community helps to bring stability to Iraq, the more will it help to isolate Iranian regime. This regime is horrified of stability in Iraq, so it is the best way to confront the mullahs,” added Sen. Graham.
