
Tensions between Iraq’s Kurdistan region and Maliki’s government continue despite negotiations, Al Sharqiya TV reported.
Around 2,000 Iraqi Army soldiers of the Dijla Operations Command and other forces form the Kurdistan Pishmarga units have stationed in regions described by the constitution as disputed areas, Al Sharqiya TV added.
During day light guns and weapons are pointed at each other, while movements are all conducted under the cover of the night, this report added.
One armored division is stationed amongst Iraqi Army forces, with over 30 tanks dispatched to the Meqdadiya region, one source told Al Sharqiya TV.
