US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power issued a statement strongly condemning the killing of Syrian civilians and destroying infrastructure through continuous barrel bombs attacks. During the past month and a half the Assad regime has dropped more than 2,000 barrel bombs on the Syrian people, with most of these deadly ordnances being dropped on the cities of Dera and Zeydani.
It appears the Assad regime is relying more and more on horrific barrel bombs to cement a climate of fear amongst the innocent Syrian people, and the international community has done nothing to stop this, the statement reads in part.
