
Syrian fighters were able to take over a women’s prison near Adra Central Prison close to Damascus after intense clashes with the mercenaries of the Assad regime, Orient TV reported Saturday. Dozens of Assad troops were killed or injured.
After taking control over various hilltops overlooking Damascus and cutting off an international highway, the rebels were able to start besieging Adra Central Prison.
Other clashes have been reported around the military security building and the army headquarters command in Zahiye. Many Assad regime supporters fled the area as a result.
