Ali Bal-lu, commander of a Syrian rebel division, says their war is against Iran, not the Assad regime because in their opinion the Assad regime is nothing but a ‘toy’, al-Babeliya TV reported on February 4th.
This rebel commander said before the revolution there were no political activities and general elections were a mere show because ballot boxes were already prepared and they were only used to ridicule the people.
However, after Assad’s forces opened fire on demonstrators, the people answered by taking up arms in December 2011.
