The Syrian opposition has accused Russia of targeting hospitals in its recent airstrikes as these facilities are providing medical services to civilians, Al Arabiya reported.
Opposition groups issued a letter to the Arab League calling for an urgent session of foreign ministers to discuss Russia’s aggression against the Syrian people and take the necessary measures to confront these attacks.
“Occupying and overt intervention by Russia in Syria is a violation of resolutions issued by the UN Security Council and General Assembly, the Arab League and the Geneva statements,” said opposition leader Khalid Khoja to Arab League Secretary-General Nabil al-Araby.
The opposition went on to describe how hospitals have been targeted while these facilities are providing medical aid to civilians. This has forced medical staff in areas under attack to evacuate all hospitals due to their fears.
