Syrian rebels have launched widespread attack on a number of bases and centers belonging to Assad troops near Latakia, Orient TV reported on Sunday.

Intense clashes have been reported in the Jibil al-Akrad heights and Russian military forces were seen fighting alongside Assad troops.

The rebels said they targeted the Hamimin airport near the city of Jibla with Grad rockets.

The Lebanese Hezbollah and Revolutionary Guards are reportedly in command of many scenes of battle across Syria.
