The Assad regime in Syria has restarted massive airstrikes using deadly barrel bombs on the city of Darya near Damascus, leaving many civilians injured after these air raids, Al Jazeera reported on Saturday, August 8th.
It is worth noting that the city of Daria has to this day witnessed heavy artillery barrages by the Assad regime. It is said that these measures by Assad are in response to ‘Operation Lahib Daria’ staged by armed opposition fighters around important areas of this city that have fallen under their control. The armed rebels have taken many areas near the al-Mazza air base under their control.
