Syrian fighters said they carried out two major attacks against Assad military forces and Hezbollah militants to retake various hilltops around East Ghouta near Damascus, Orient TV reported.
The fighters also attacked three Assad military convoys including main battle tanks and armored personnel carriers heading to East Ghouta on the Homs-Damascus International Highway.

Assad-affiliated websites reported Staff General Imen Hassan Saqqar and a group of Republican Guard members were killed in clashes around town of Assad in Damascus.
With these recent clashes the Syrian fighters have been able to take complete control over the Homs-Damascus highway.
