Syrian rebels in the town of Tal Zarzur ambushed Assad forces and killed 40 Iraqi mercenaries, injuring a number of others and destroying their vehicles and military equipment, Orient TV reported. The remaining forces withdrew from the scene under the cover of artillery fire.
Syrian rebels west of this city said they made advances in the Rashedin neighborhood and cleansed new residential complexes of Assad troops.
