Syria: battles around Zabadani and towns near Idlib

The Syrian Human Rights Network said ceasefire negotiations in Zabadani and around Damascus, the towns of Kafariya, Fo’e and near Idlib have ended in complete failure.

Al Arabiya TV reported battles erupted once again after these negotiations failed. The Zabadani local council said negotiations with Tehran have failed as this regime is demanding the rebels evacuate the two provinces of Idlib and Dera’a.

Moreover, there was never any discussion of rebels inside Zabadani being able to safely exit the city.
Iran has even opposed the transfer of food stuffs and medicine for the rebels, or allowing them to evacuate their wounded members.

Zabadani is currently witnessing vicious bombings by Assad’s forces on one hand, and ground attacks launched by Hezbollah forces on the other.
They have attempted to take control of the city from various fronts, yet faced stiff resistance by the rebels.
