Syrian fighters announced the beginning of the operation to liberate the east region of Ghalamoon in Damascus suburb. The goal is to push Lebanese “Hezbollah” militias back out of this region. The fighters also took over control of Baghdad – Damascus highway, a major logistical road that gives the Syrian opposition fighters much advantage. A number of other strategic positions were also seized by the Syrian fighters.
