In an interview with the Jordanian daily Al-Arab al-Yawm, Sheikh Kadhim Ale Anizan, head of the southern Iraqis Tribal Council, said: We suffer from the Iranian regime’s meddling in our country; pilots, former army officers, tribal chiefs and experts who oppose Iranian regime are threatened to be killed, in order to force them to leave southern Iraq.
He added: We shall resist against the Iranian regime and its domination over southern Iraq; we held our congress at the end of 2007, 18 kilometers away from the Iranian border; holding such a congress, particularly after the assassination of 31 tribal chiefs in the south, was an outcry against the Iranian regime in the south.
