According to Al Jazeera TV English broadcast, Sheikh Ali Hatam Suleiman, emir of Iraq’s Doleim tribe, recently said, “Until Maliki steps down from power no political conciliation can take place in Iraq, and until a temporary national salvation government hasn’t taken control over the status quo to carry out reform, there will be no peace.”
Sheikh Ali Hatam called for the US to reevaluate its policies on Maliki and said, “Some of their remarks are unacceptable. For example, when they say they support the Iraqi army, what army? There is no army! They are only militants supported by Maliki and Iran, and they are the ones threatening Iraq.”
