Washington’s beliefs about the necessity of Bashar Assad stepping down has not changed, said US Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes in an interview with Al Arabiya TV on Thursday, September 3rd.
The US is working with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the fields of exchanging intelligence, defensive, military, air, ground and naval issues in order to stop Iran’s expansionism in the region.
The US is also working very closely with Saudi Arabia on resolving the Yemen and Syria crisis, especially with the support Iran is providing for militants such as the Lebanese Hezbollah.
