Rear Admiral Gregory Smith, Director of Communications and Deputy Spokesman of MNF-I, accused Iraqi commanders of having supervision over the Special Forces who are trained by the Quds force in Iraq.

In an interview with Azzaman daily, he said: “We have intelligence and evidences on the IRGC interferences in Iraq in the form of training Special Forces that have been trained by the Quds Force and have come from Iran. These cells are deployed in southern Iraq, Diyala and Baghdad.” He added, “Senior Iraqi commanders have supervision over the individuals who have been trained in Iran and have been sent back to Iraq; these commanders are in several locations in Iraq and the names of some of them who had been killed or arrested were announced.”

Smith said, “We shall continue to kill and arrest them.”
