Mosul Governor Atheel al-Nujaifi said Iraqi security forces resorted to birdshots in an attempt to disperse the large crowd gathering in Mosul’s Ahrar Square, Al Jazeera reported.

One journalist of Mosul TV was injured as a result of this shooting.
“Mosul is angry. It has been weeks that these demonstrations are continuing non-stop. This is a new demonstrations and the challenge can be seen in the anger of the demonstrators,” Al Jazeera continued.
