Saudi envoy criticizes UN inaction in Yemen

Abdullah al-Moalemi, Saudi Arabian Permanent Representative in the United Nations revealed that half of the humanitarian aid evaluated by the UN is being provided by his country, Al Arabiya TV reported on July 29th.
He added the price of these aids has been $1.5 billion and $500 million dollars have been provided by the Saudis and the remaining needs were paid for by other Persian Gulf countries.
He protested UN’s inaction in this regard and added, “The question the UN official in charge of this dossier must answer is that what aid has been provided by other countries, Russia, and other countries that are seeking an evaluation of the situation in Yemen, what money have they provided? What re the responsibilities and roles played by other countries in this regard?”
