Saudi Arabia insists on the overthrow of Bashar Assad, even if it means intervening in this country and increasing its support for the Syrian revolution, Saudi writer and analyst Jimal Ghashoghchi said in an interview with Al Jazeera TV on Thursday.
“Ending the war in Syria needs Bashar Assad to be taken out and building a new Syria, and insisting on maintaining Bashar Assad means this war will continue for years to come,” he added.
“Even the Russian people are condemning the meddling by Russia and Iran in Syria,” Ghashoghchi continued.
Along with Turkey and other countries Saudi Arabia will continue to be a supporter of the rights of the Syrian people and back their revolution, he emphasized.
