The 12-hour detention of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy became a hot issue in French media. The investigating judge on Thursday interrogated Sarkozy on receiving financial support from a famous French millioner for his 2007 elections campaign.
“Sarkozy’s 12-hour presence in the judge’s office was equal to his political death warrant because he claimed he intended to bid farewell to Chirac’s suspicious actions,” the French daily Liberation wrote.
