In an interview with the Al-Alam Newspaper Senior Iraqiya leader Dr. Saleh Mutlaqsaid: “Recent election results showed the majority of Iraqis demand another model other than Nouri Maliki’s government for the next four years.”, Al-Alam daily (Iraq) reported.
He added: “Maliki is currently clinging on to his position, yet this is in violation of the principle of the peaceful transfer of power. This comes at a time when we need to rescue ourselves from the legacy of monopolization and dictatorship.”
Saleh Mutlaqsaid: “Due to continuous public protests, Maliki is currently in a position that nobody wishes to be in his shoes.”
