Agence France Preesse reported that Sadr current demanded the dissolution of Iraq’s parliament and to hold fresh legislative elections.

In a press conference held in Baghdad’s Green Zone, Baha al-Aaraji, chairman of the Judicial and Legal Commission of Iraqi Parliament and spokesman of the Sadr current, which has 23 representatives in the parliament, said: Continuing present function of the parliament is making obstacles on the path of establishing democracy in Iraq. I ask Talabani for dissolution of this parliament and to hold fresh elections.
