Asharqiya TV, June 4, 2010 – Amir al-Kanani, Secretary General of al-Ahrar faction, affiliated to Sadr faction said: “The al-Ahrar faction will not vote in favor of Nour al-Maliki. Due to this issue, members of Maliki’s State of Law faction are not going to set up the 14-member committee session to elect candidates for premiership post, knowing in advance that Nouri Maliki’s premiership candidacy will be vetoed; and issued that would distance Maliki away from the premiership post.”
