In an interview with Saudi Arabia’s Ilaf website, Iraqiya Coalition leader Ayad Allawi said the Russian arms deal fraud led to the degrading of Iraq’s credibility among the international community, adding it led to a bank crisis and tarnishing of the country’s name abroad.
This makes the resolving of financial and administrative corruption as one of the most important issues that need to be resolved.
“Unfortunately, the crisis has spread throughout the country and there is no trust between the political parties, and some have relied on propaganda against others,” he said.
“The relations between the central government and the provinces is not based on legal methods, and the central government is unable to present a legal plan to the Parliament for oil and gas, and how to divide the country’s wealth and supervise this whole process,” Allawi continued.
