Kremlin spokesman Dimitry Peskov said Moscow is ready to dispatch boots to Damascus if the Syrian regime asks Russia for military forces, Al Arabiya.net reported.
Reuters cited Syrian military sources saying their troops are recently seen using new air and ground weapons arriving from Russia. Moscow has in the past few days escalated its military support for the Assad regime in Syria. Syrian rebels have inflicted severe blows to the Syrian regime forces, leaving Assad with no choice but to ask Russia for further support.
