
The U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met and talked with the foreign ministers of six member counties of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Bahrain.
Before her arrival at Manama, in Baghdad she asked the Arab states to strengthen their presence in Iraq.
Al-Jazeera TV reported: although Iraq’s dossier would be the bulk of Rice’s talks, she will however seek to put pressure on U.S. allies about Iranian regime’s nuclear file and imposition of economic sanctions against this regime.
Bahrain news agency said: the GCC and Egypt, Jordan and the United States summit will be held to strengthen the corporation among the participating countries and necessary coordination for establishing stability and peace in the region. Besides, important issues of the Middle East region, especially process of peace and stability in Iraq, will be discussed.
