Asharqiya TV reported on March 4, 2009 that in his trip to Samarra, Rafsanjani was faced with widespread boycott of clergies, trusted personalities, and tribal leaders, such that his Iraqi delegation that accompanied him ended the visit apace in less than one hour and returned him to Baghdad.
