Qatar on Wednesday recalled its ambassador to Iran on the backdrop of the storming, torching and sabotage activities carried out by a group of demonstrators on the Saudi Embassy in Tehran and its Consulate in Mashhad, Kuwait news agency reported.
Such actions constitute flagrant breach of international conventions and violation of Iran’s international commitment over security and safety of diplomatic missions on its lands, said Khaled Al-Hamar, director of Asia department at the foreign ministry in a statement carried by Qatar News Agency (QNA).
The foreign ministry also handed the embassy a memo protesting the violent acts.
