Carla Del Ponte, member of the United Nations commission of Inquiry on Syria said the International Criminal Court will prosecute Bashar Assad for horrific violations of the rights of the Syrian people.
“The urgent matter is to end the war in Syria and I hope a special criminal tribunal, such as the court cases held for war criminals in Yugoslavia and Rwanda, will be established for Syria,” she said.
