President Trump expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia following the ballistic missile attack against King Salman’s official resident, al-Yamamah palace, on December 19 – an attack enabled the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. King Salman updated President Trump on the situation and briefed the President on Saudi Arabia’s plan to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. The leaders discussed the importance of engaging the United Nations to hold Iran accountable for its repeated violations of international law and agreed on the importance of reinvigoration a political process to end the war in Yemen.
