Overnight Asad regime attacks kill 7 civilians in Eastern Ghouta

Orient Net, February, 12, 2018—  Seven civilians, including 2 children, were killed in Douma city overnight, as Assad militias, backed by Russian aircraft, continued their assault against the besieged towns and cities of Eastern Ghouta in south Syria.

Orient News correspondent, Mohammad Abdulrahman, said that regime militias targeted Douma city with artillery missiles and ‘Fil’ rockets, killing 7 civilians and injuring others.

Yesterday, a civilian was killed, and dozens were injured as Assad regime jets conducted three airstrikes on the city of Hamoriyya, while other regime attacks hit towns and cities of Harasta Al-Abbada, Mesraba and Medyara, according to Orient News Correspondents.

Two civilians were killed in Saqba on Sunday as regime artillery targeted residential areas in the city, Syria Civil Defense said on their official Twitter account.

Eastern Ghouta, a suburban area near Damascus, has been surrounded by Assad militias for more than four years. The siege intensified in May when Assad regime, backed by Russian air jets, conducted a large-scale offensive. According to the United Nations, nearly 400,000 civilians are trapped in the area, with half thought to be children.
