On the ground military assessment in Yemen provinces

Clashes in war fronts in Ma’rib Province have advanced in comparison to other provinces and popular resistance forces in the south and west of the city of Ma’rib have clashed with Houthi militants, Al Arabiya TV reported on August 24th.
These clashes erupted coinciding with forces rallying and military equipment being sent to this province from Saudi Arabia.
Eyewitnesses said the new military equipment dispatched to this province consisted of dozens of main battle tanks and armored personnel carriers.
In Ibb Province clashes continued between popular resistance forces and the militants. Popular resistance forces were able to kill dozens of the militants and destroy a number of their military machinery.
In Ta’izz Province Houthi militants launched 122mm Katiusha rockets on residential areas, killing 14 civilians including women and children.  Houthi militants and troops loyal to ousted dictator Ali Abdullah Salah east of the city of Ta’izz were using the hilltops to fire their indiscriminate barrages.
Military sources in Ta’izz Province said popular resistance forces retook control over the road linking Port Hadida and Mokha to the city of Ta’izz. Afterwards they encircled the fort belonging to the 35th brigade associated to Salah’s troops. This base is located on the western outskirts of Ta’izz.
Arab coalition warplanes also bombed Houthi positions in Sa’dah, Hadidah and Ma’rib.
